Our client is looking to add a Molecular Biology Analyst to their team on a permanent basis. This is an onsite role in Junction City, KS. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities:
Regenerate transgenic plants from transformed callus tissue.
Conduct a variety of molecular biology techniques including PCR, Capillary Westerns, restriction digests, gel electrophoresis, Immuno-blots, and Western blots.
Maintain a personal Action Plan, documenting activities and results for effective communication with colleagues and supervisors.
Ensure an adequate supply of lab reagents and preparations required for transformation experiments, and place orders for reagents as needed.
Maintain a clean work area and equipment within the laboratory.
Demonstrate proficiency in various molecular biology techniques such as DNA gel electrophoresis, restriction digestion of plasmid DNA, clean lab techniques, and sterile technique.
Possess expertise in cloning with competent cells and the use of cloning vectors.
Prepare media for cell culture and transformation experiments.
Conduct Western blotting experiments and analyze results.
Successfully grow bacterial cultures required for molecular biology experiments.
Perform isolation and purification of DNA and/or RNA.
Demonstrate proficiency in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) techniques.
Be highly motivated, highly organized and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Comply with all safety training and good laboratory practices.
Design and guide complex experiments and projects using a wide application of complex principles, theories, and concepts.
Comply with all company policies.

B.S. or M.Sc. in Cell or Molecular Biology or a related field.
Strong knowledge and understanding of recombinant DNA methods and plant transformation techniques.
Proficiency in various molecular biology techniques, including PCR, gel electrophoresis, Western blotting
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with the Microsoft Office 365 suite of products, including Outlook, Sharepoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with statistical analysis or optimization software to develop and execute using a design of experiments approach.
