Director of Distribution Position Overview:
The Director of Distribution will lead and manage a multi-location warehouse operation, facility maintenance, and inventory control. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and an inspirational leader with a proven track record of operational excellence and team development.
Director of Distribution Responsibilities:
Lead and optimize multi-site warehouse operations, including staffing, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
Implement and refine best practices for efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
Oversee inventory control processes such as cycle counts and physical inventories.
Develop strategic plans to optimize distribution routes and logistics to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
Monitor KPIs (e.g., on-time delivery, cost per stop) and drive continuous improvement.
Oversee maintenance schedules for warehouse equipment and facilities to minimize downtime.
Lead and mentor a high-performing team fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts and analyze trends, to address any capacity constraints proactively.
Director of Distribution Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in operational leadership, preferably managing multi-site distribution or warehouse facilities.
Strong background in warehouse, logistics, and distribution operations.
Proficient in record keeping and managing data to make decisions. Competency in Excel functions.
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage teams, foster collaboration, and lead change.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
Ability to work onsite in Syracuse NY.
