This position will support Product Division(s) and multiple areas of the business with Customer and Market focused insights. Analyze disparate data sources to identify business/consumption trends, identify opportunities for growth, and protect market share. This person will present analyses to cross functional teams by creating division specific presentations and analytical reporting. In addition, this person will create, socialize, and teach methods to analyze data related to retail, consumer, and market metrics. Apply high standards of analytic measurement, design theory, fact based decision making to the core business needs.
Core Functions
The core functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: • Act as a key business partner to Product Divisions. • Analyze data to develop insights-based analysis /projects with recommendations focused on strategies and objectives • Develop and maintain division-specific reporting that measures performance against strategies and objectives • Build presentations using syndicated, panel, basket, shopper and other data sources that provide solutions and recommendations to address business issues • Work closely and often with assigned division partners by setting up regular meetings and become a trusted advisor • Be a strong voice guiding the evolution of our merchandizing teams into a data driven, customer focused future. • Ability to persuade and/or present to management, store owners, external contacts. • Utilize a range of data systems to prepare complex, accurate insights into Grocery industry data. If needed report/system is not available, be able to find a solution. • Contribute deeply to the corporate knowledge base. • Succeed while managing multiple tasks with tight deadlines. • Performs special projects as required.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements: • Shows a key passion for data, curiosity, and willingness to research tough open ended questions. • Four Year bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred • Two+ years business experience in an office environment, preferably in an analytical capacity • Demonstrated mathematical/statistical/economic aptitude • Critical thinking skills • Experience with grocery/retail data or trends • Organized, detail oriented, excellent research skills, motivated problem solver • Able to collect and interpret detail data to reach accurate, fact based solutions • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Able to effectively present and conduct meetings • Prepares written materials to meet purpose and audience • Effective time management; maximizes productivity • Develops and maintains positive relationships with internal and external parties • Strong Excel skills, prior use of v-lookup, graphing functions • Additional preferred prior application experience: (Price Plus Insights/dunnhumby Shop, MicroStrategy, Cognos, Nielsen/IRI Circana, Numerator, or other related coding skills) • Basic skills Tableau, Microstrategy Library, or similar data visualization tools, is a plus • Basic skills in writing SQL Code, is a plus • Able and willing to self-learn new systems
