EHS Expert Refractory Services

POSITION SUMMARY:

Manages company's EHS function in accordance with global / regional policies and procedures to meet the business requirements. The EHS Professional will partner with all areas of our organization to lead critical projects and initiatives for the region. As part of a multifunctional team, you will work closely with NAM organizational teams and leadership to develop new insightful solutions to address daily issues and mitigate risk.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
  • Implements and administers established EHS policies, procedures, and practices to meet requirements supporting short and long-term business needs
  • Provides EHS leadership to organizational staff; reviews and assesses performance, builds organizational capabilities.
  • Develop specific strategies to achieve a Safety culture focused on hazard identification and risk reduction
  • Collaborates with managers and supervisors to identify and correct potential EHS risks and impacts
  • Prepares governmental reports and participates in representation with outside agencies
  • Develops, maintains, and assists with the implementation of EHS management system processes tools, programs (e.g., AccStat, RoXtra, etc.)
  • Monitor's usage of EHS platforms to ensure functionality and meets business needs
  • Collaborates with all employees to drive continuous improvement through EHS tools and systems
  • Training development, functionality improvements and delivery.
  • Maintains current training programs capturing any regulatory updates and or changes in organizational requirements
  • Gives timely response to internal and external customers. Clearly communicates with all team members
  • Safety (roXtra) document management
  • Safety (AccStat) document management
  • Assist the local EHS personnel in completion of reporting requirements as defined by the regulatory authorities
  • Assist in Incident Investigations and Root Cause Analysis
  • Assist in the follow-up related to EHS IMS audits
  • Completion of administrative tasks for the EHS department as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, Health & Safety / related Engineering / Science field and or equivalent EHS experience

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Preferred:
  • 2-5 years of EHS experience with progressing responsibilities
  • Ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with ability to interface seamlessly with all levels of management. Comfortable working in virtual environments with remote teams and across a broad set of stakeholders
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, online software platforms, with the ability to use spreadsheets and data analysis application
  • Self-starter, motivated team player, with ability to bring alternate points of view to the discussion and analysis
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively organize responsibilities. Strong project management and leadership skills, self-motivating skillset that drives results both autonomously and in a team environment

CERTIFICATIONS:

Preferred:
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS)
