Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Development Associate will support all aspects of real estate development projects, including site evaluation, market research, financial analysis, design, entitlement, and construction coordination. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a passion for real estate development, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with evaluating and analyzing potential development opportunities, including site selection, feasibility analysis, and due diligence.
  • Conduct market research to assess competitive positioning, market trends, and project viability.
  • Prepare and update financial models, including pro formas, budgets, and return analyses.
  • Support the development team in securing entitlements, permits, and approvals by coordinating with consultants, attorneys, and government officials.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors during the design and construction phases to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Assist in preparing presentations, proposals, and investment packages for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track project schedules, budgets, and key deliverables, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Monitor construction progress and communicate with project teams to address issues and implement solutions.
  • Support asset management efforts, including leasing and operations, as projects transition from development to stabilization.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Real Estate, Finance, Urban Planning, Business, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in architecture, real estate development, investment, or related industries preferred.
  • Strong understanding of real estate fundamentals, including zoning, entitlements, construction processes, and project feasibility.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, and collaborative team player.
  • Experience with industry tools such as Excel, CoStar, and similar platforms is a plus.
