Performs difficult professional work directing, planning, implementing and supervising facilities construction, maintenance and support services including buildings, grounds and facilities maintenance, purchasing and contracted services, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the superintendent. Departmental supervision is exercised over all personnel within the department. Some evenings and weekends are required.

Essential Functions Administrative Duties: 75% of the time. * Hires, trains, supervises, evaluates and directs custodial personnel; assigns tasks based on daily needs of facility users. * Maintains the inventory listing of parts and supplies. * Creates and maintains records of service. * Prepares and administers the department budget, long range maintenance program and capital budget. * Collaboratively coordinates the district Capital and Long-Term Facilities Maintenance plans with the districts business manager. * Works with outside contractors to complete service needs outside staff capabilities. * Reviews and approves department invoices. * Evaluates costs of service or materials. * Acts as the district safety and health coordinator. * Informs the superintendent of major events or charges related to the department. * Works diligently to complete district-wide carpentry and other projects in-house. * Other duties as assigned.
