The Senior IT Infrastructure Manager (Senior Manager of System Administration and Networks) is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of our client's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems. This role ensures that all IT systems operate efficiently, securely, and in alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the administration and maintenance of all server systems, network infrastructure, and storage solutions.
Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of IT infrastructure to support current and future terminal operations and business needs.
Manage data centers, ensuring proper power, cooling, and network connectivity.
Develop and implement training programs to ensure the business stays current with industry standards and technologies.
Collaborate proactively within the team and company stakeholders to identify technology needs and implement solutions that enhance operations and opportunities for the business.
Design, implement, and manage the terminal's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPNs, and wireless networks.
Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement upgrades as necessary.
Ensure network security through the implementation of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect the terminal's data and systems.
Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and support of all server systems, including virtualization platforms, email systems, and database servers.
Ensure regular backups and disaster recovery procedures are in place and tested.
Manage user access and permissions, ensuring compliance with security policies.
Maintain compliance with industry regulations and standards, including those specific to maritime and port operations.
Assist cyber team with regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Serve as a point of contact for IT-related matters with external stakeholders, including vendors, partners, and regulatory bodies and manage relationships to ensure quality and cost-effective services.
Provide technical guidance and support to IT management, system administrators, network engineers, and support staff on IT-related decisions.
Lead IT infrastructure projects from conception through implementation, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management.
Enforce and monitor contractual service level agreements (SLAs) with IT vendors and assigned independent contractors.
With other IT management, contribute to the development and implementation of the IT strategy for the terminal.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Advanced understanding and familiarity with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Internet.
Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth and common security elements.
Hands-on experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data (e.g. Netflow, FPC), and other attack artifacts in support of incident investigations.
Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions.
Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
Proficiency with any of the following: Anti-Virus, HIPS, ID/PS, Full Packet Capture, Host-Based Forensics, Network Forensics, and RSA Security.
In-depth knowledge of architecture, engineering, and operations of at least one enterprise SIEM platform (e.g. ATT AlienVault, ArcSight, QRadar, LogLogic, Splunk).
Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends and make recommendations for future IT investments.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
5-7 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of network administration, system administration, and IT security.
Experience in a marine container terminal or similar industrial environment is preferred
