Job Description:

We are hiring an IT Field Engineer to start immediately for a Direct Hire position.
  • The Headquarter is in Brea, CA
  • This person can be remote anywhere, but will be traveling extensively, nationally, to various compny sites
  • The travel is fully covered or reiumbursed by the company
  • Up to 110k/year (may be flexible depending on the level of experience)

The IT Infrastructure Field Technician/Engineer will travel to new sites, expansions and relocations of offices to take care of network connections, bull pen desks, video walls, etc. They are responsible for architecting, planning, installation, configuration and maintenance of corporate hardware, software and related infrastructure including cloud infrastructure. This includes the creation of plans for platform functionality, stability, data consistency, availability, performance and security of systems aligned with the Company's priorities and enabling its employees to do their work effectively. The role requires diagnosing and resolving performance issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability of IT infrastructure. Expected to lead troubleshooting sessions to recover from outages and drive engineers to complete root cause analysis, diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software problems as well as connectivity issues. They will also be accountable for planning updates and maintenance of hardware and software resources to mitigate limitations and combat obsolescence.
  • Maintain, upgrade, and administer Active Directory environment, Windows and Citrix servers, and hypervisor and storage environments.
  • Recommend and implement configuration changes to enhance performance and stability.
  • Maintain, upgrade, and administer networking equipment - switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers etc. Recommend and implement configuration changes to enhance performance and stability.
  • Analyze failures and put in place needed measures to minimize outages and interruptions.
  • Recommend and implement policies and procedures to improve performance and stability across the enterprise.
  • Oversee and coordinate maintenance activities for Windows, Citrix, Nutanix and networking equipment as needed including keeping updated with essential patches.
  • Act as the technical lead for handling infrastructure related outages.
  • Provide technical assistance to vendors in identifying and troubleshooting server problems.
  • Recommends appropriate tools for improved monitoring and administration of the Windows, Citrix, networking and information security systems - both on-premises and cloud.
  • Administer and monitor the backup infrastructure to ensure recoverability of data when required.
  • Implement, administer and monitor required security tools to effectively combat Cybersecurity threats.
  • Resolve tickets, changes, and tasks in a timely manner.
  • Provide complete documentation for the computing and networking systems.
  • Must be able to analyze systems and be able to provide root cause analysis for complex problems
  • Must be available to travel nationally to new locations.
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
  • Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, NetApp, Nutanix or Citrix designations/certifications.
  • Effective communication skills; verbal, non-verbal and written; and ability to communicate on all levels of the organization.
  • Diligent attention to detail is essential due to the nature of work.
  • Sound ethics and confidentiality with good customer service skills.
  • Thorough analysis, judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize is a must.
  • Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.
  • Ability to use typical business tools including E-Mail, Word, Excel, etc.
