ASSYST is seeking an AWS DevOps Engineer to support our government client's project based in Austin, TX.
The position will be 4 days remote with 1 day (Thursdays) required to be onsite at the Austin, TX location. The program will prefer candidates who are local to the Austin area.
We prefer candidates with current LinkedIn profiles.
Duties and responsibilities:
Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing.
Design, manage, and maintain tools to automate operational processes on AWS.
Automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation on AWS.
Work closely with developers to implement continuous delivery systems and methodologies on AWS
Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS
Build tools and processes to support the infrastructure
Share knowledge within the team
Required Experience:
Experience with industry-standard tools for infrastructure monitoring, application performance monitoring, visualization, and alerting
Experience in automation and testing via scripting & programming (TFS, PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Java)
Experience of Public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar) DevOps design and engineering & support experience
Strong experience in Configuration Management and Release Management
Preferred Experience:
Experience in best practices for optimizing IT infrastructure, providing policies, standards and guidelines
Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional engineering teams that incorporate software developers, QA, and product managers

Clear written and verbal communication
Strongly Preferred - Certified on at least one: AWS DevOps Engineering, AWS Certified Developer - Associate, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate
Preferred graduation with a Bachelor's degree in CS, CIS, math, or similar technical degree.
