IT Manager or IT Project managers that have been responsible for IT finance and contracts (FinOps), need to know MS Licensing (True-Up), Cloud Financial Management (CFM), Financial reporting (using MicroStrategy but moving to MS PowerBI) to advise and establish processes and recommend new tools, templates, etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Cloud Financial Management (CFM):
Support identification and tracking of cloud-based Microsoft Licenses (M365, Power Platform) and consumption-based Azure subscriptions for various modernization projects.
Support the annual Microsoft Licensing true up.
IT Budgeting and financial planning:
Merge existing (legacy, XLS based) and new IT cost tracking (CFM) into new global IT budget framework.
Support the annual budgeting process.
Improve tools and templates to track heavily subscription-based IT run cost (systems), global personnel-related cost and other indirect IT cost.
Financial Reporting
Support setup of regular financial reporting in a global, mixed technology environment (on prem vs cloud, legacy vs. modernized environment). Integration of cloud-native reports with Client-proprietary finance tracking. Finance process automation and migrating to improved solutions.
Vendor Management
Support various aspects of vendor management, incl. invoice verification and disposition, establish contract management framework. Potentially setting up new IT finance-related vendors.
IT Asset Management
Advise on the approach on a light-weight IT asset management tracking (also used for roadmap- and project planning) using standard IT frameworks (ITIL, COBIT) and respective templates and tools.
Support planning and execution projects from financial perspective
Help to support financials for project candidates (business case, estimations) and executing projects (project controlling and reporting).
