Job Title: Workday Test Lead
Milwaukee , WI
Job Summary:
Weare seeking an experienced Workday Test Lead to join our team and oversee the testing
processes for our Workday implementation and ongoing maintenance. The ideal candidate
will have a strong background in Workday testing, including unit testing, integrations, parallel
payroll testing, and automated testing. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality and
accuracy of our Workday system across all modules and functionalities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for all
Workday modules and functionalities.
2. Lead and coordinate unit testing efforts, ensuring thorough coverage of all system
components and configurations.
3. Oversee integration testing, verifying seamless data flow between Workday and
other internal and external systems.
4. Plan and execute parallel payroll testing to ensure accuracy and compliance with
local, state, and federal regulations.
5. Coordinate and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions, including
scheduling, facilitating, and documenting outcomes.
6. Implement and manage automated testing processes using tools like OpKey,
improving efficiency and coverage of testing efforts.
7. Collaborate with business stakeholders, functional leads, and technical teams to
understand requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
8. Manage and prioritize testing activities, allocating resources efficiently to meet project
timelines and quality standards.
9. Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development teams to
ensure timely resolution.
10. Provide regular status updates and reports on testing progress, issues, and risks to
project management and stakeholders.
11. Mentor and guide junior testers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous
improvement within the team.
12. Stay up-to-date with Workday releases and new features, adjusting testing strategies
accordingly.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 3 years specifically focused
on Workday testing.
3. Strong knowledge of Workday modules, including HCM, Payroll, Finance, and
Integrations.
4. Proven experience in creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts
for Workday implementations.
5. Expertise in unit testing, integration testing, and parallel payroll testing within
Workday.
6. Experience in coordinating and managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes.
7. Hands-on experience with automated testing tools, particularly OpKey or similar
Workday-specific automation tools.
8. Familiarity with Workday Studio and integration testing tools.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively
with cross-functional teams.
11. Experience with test management tools and defect tracking systems.
12. Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Workday certifications (e.g., HCM, Payroll, Financials).
2. Advanced knowledge of OpKey or other Workday-specific automated testing tools.
3. Experience in developing and maintaining automated test scripts for Workday.
4. Knowledge of data conversion and migration testing in Workday implementations.
5. Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
6. Experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a testing team.
7. Proficiency in performance testing and load testing for Workday applications
