Job Summary: The IT Solutions Analyst's role is to define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain new software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. The incumbent will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with developers, and designers in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications.
Works with business user groups to solve business problems with available technology including hardware, software, databases and peripherals.
Analysis of business and user needs, and translation of those requirements into proper system specifications and system documentation
Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of software's business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments.
Assist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation.
Research, identify, analyze, and fulfill requirements of all business users.
Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Liaise with vendors for efficient implementation of new software products or systems and for resolution of any adaptation issues.
Liaise with network administrators, other business analysts, and developers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary.
Design, run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.
Generate statistics and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process.
Develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines.
Train business users on new or modified applications/programs.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong skills in the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Visio.
Must have very strong mathematical, analytical and logical skills to be able to deal with complex financial models and calculations.
Aptitude in logical and analytical thinking with strong problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of product life cycle methodologies, quality assurance methodologies, project management, documentation and industry trends.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Customer oriented team player with a 'can do' attitude.
Experience with writing SQL queries and thorough understanding of relational databases.
Experience supporting the application written in Python.
Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Education and Experience:
University degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering or a bachelor's degree in information technology, Business, or Finance. Or equivalent work experience.
3 - 7years overall business experience, preferably with an information technology real estate background and/or as a junior developer or systems analyst for a major corporation.
Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
Working technical knowledge of SQL and stored procedures.
