Biocytogen is seeking highly skilled and motivated scientists to join our antibody discovery team. This role is dedicated to optimizing therapeutic antibody binders from our RenBiologics program, which generates an extensive library of therapeutic antibodies targeting thousands of druggable genes. The successful candidate will utilize advanced antibody engineering techniques to improve binding affinity, specificity, stability, and therapeutic functionality. This work supports the development of antibodies across diverse therapeutic areas, including immuno-oncology, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, neurology, cardiovascular conditions, and metabolic disorders.
Job Responsibilities:
Target Selection and Program Design
Select and evaluate therapeutic targets with a strong understanding of MOA, druggability, and delivery options.
Design experimental strategies to advance candidates from Biocytogen's RenBiologics Antibody Binder/Lead Library toward therapeutic development.
Project Management
Drive projects by assembling resources, managing timelines, and ensuring alignment with program objectives.
Antibody Engineering and Optimization
Engineer antibodies to improve affinity, specificity, stability, and manufacturability.
Optimize antibodies through advanced molecular designs, such as Fc engineering or bispecific formats.
Lead Evaluation and Development
Evaluate lead antibodies for binding, function, and developability, ensuring readiness for preclinical development.
Collaboration and Reporting
Work with discovery, manufacturing, and BD licensing teams to advance and out-license antibody assets.
Maintain clear documentation and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience:
PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 5+ years of experience in antibody engineering and project management.
Strong expertise in target biology research, including understanding MOA, druggability, and formulation requirements.
Proven experience in antibody engineering and optimization, including affinity maturation and stability improvement.
Demonstrated ability to independently drive projects, assemble resources, and meet critical milestones.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and presenting findings effectively.
