Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a Workday Test Lead who will manage and enhance our testing processes for Workday implementation and ongoing maintenance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Workday testing, including unit testing, integrations, parallel payroll testing, and automation. This role is essential to ensuring the quality and accuracy of our Workday system across all modules and functionalities.

Duties:
  • Develop and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for all Workday modules and functionalities
  • Lead and coordinate unit testing efforts to ensure comprehensive coverage of all system components and configurations
  • Oversee integration testing to verify seamless data flow between Workday and other internal and external systems
  • Plan and execute parallel payroll testing to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Coordinate and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including scheduling, facilitating sessions, and documenting results
  • Implement and manage automated testing processes using tools like OpKey to improve efficiency and test coverage
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, functional leads, and technical teams to translate requirements into effective test scenarios
  • Manage and prioritize testing activities, efficiently allocating resources to meet project timelines and quality standards
  • Identify, document, and track defects, collaborating with development teams for timely resolution
  • Provide regular updates and reports on testing progress, issues, and risks to project management and stakeholders
  • Mentor and guide junior testers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement
  • Stay current with Workday updates and new features, adjusting testing strategies as needed

Desired Skills/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in software testing
  • 3+ years focused on Workday testing
  • Strong knowledge of Workday modules, including HCM, Payroll, Finance, and Integrations
  • Proven experience creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Workday implementations
  • Expertise in unit testing, integration testing, and parallel payroll testing within Workday
  • Experience managing and coordinating UAT processes
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools, especially OpKey or similar Workday-specific tools
  • Familiarity with Workday Studio and integration testing tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
  • Experience with test management tools and defect tracking systems
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies
  • Workday certifications (e.g., HCM, Payroll, Financials)
  • Advanced knowledge of OpKey or similar automated testing tools
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts for Workday
  • Knowledge of data conversion and migration testing in Workday implementations
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies
  • Experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a testing team
  • Proficiency in performance testing and load testing for Workday applications
