Summary/Objective of role
The VP of Business Shared Services (BSS) will be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously optimizing a shared services strategy that aligns with both AGA's overarching strategy and Group Finance objectives.
This role will drive the establishment of an outsourced Shared Services Center focused on delivering consistent, high-quality finance-related support, with an emphasis on global best practices tailored to AGA's unique operational requirements.
The VP will ensure that the Shared Services Center adapts to and incorporates local nuances across AGA's diverse geographic footprint. Key areas of accountability include overseeing select Accounting, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Payroll, Corporate Payments, Supply Chain Vendor Data Management, and select supply chain activities.
The VP will champion operational excellence and efficiency across all processes, systems, and governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with high standards of audit and accountability. By fostering a robust governance structure and implementing integrated systems and processes, this leader will unlock value for AGA, positioning the Shared Services Center as a strategic enabler within the organization.
Accountabilities
Shared and Business Services
Outsourcing Strategy & Vendor Management: Develop and manage an outsourcing strategy for non-core activities, integrating services within the Shared Services framework
Client Experience: Define and implement client-centered processes to ensure efficient, seamless service delivery based on regional and global needs
Vendor Management: Manage the vendor relationship and governance approach, benchmarking Shared Services performance to ensure competitiveness
Business Process Standardization & Optimization: Create the means for process standardization across sites and regions
Finance Operations: Lead global Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Corporate Payments, and Master Data Management through a Shared Services Center, ensuring efficiency and quality
Supply Chain Operations: Lead select processes in Supply Chain, potentially including PO Creation, Vendor Data Management, and Contract Maintenance
Standards and Compliance: Establish and monitor minimum standards for Shared Services to ensure risk control, consistency, and regulatory compliance
Technology and Governance: Guide technology selection and governance to support efficient, secure Shared Services operations, including digitization and automation
Data Management: Define and secure a Shared Services data model, ensuring data quality, accessibility, and compliance with Group standards
Data Governance: Design a governance framework for Finance, Supply Chain, and HR master data to ensure global consistency
Budget Management: Oversee cost control and budget adherence for Shared Services, ensuring operational costs align with budget goals
Education and Qualification
Relevant tertiary qualification, preferably in Finance, Business administration, or Commercial at a minimum
Required general knowledge & experience
People Skills
Proven ability to provide clear managerial leadership and direction
Skilled in championing and leading change within a shared services environment
Demonstrated capability in driving continuous process improvements for team efficiency and output
Finance, Supply Chain, and HR (Payroll) Expertise
Strong knowledge of financial management practices
Strong knowledge of finance, supply chain, and payroll processes and best practices
Compliance and Governance Knowledge
In-depth understanding of Company policies, relevant legislation, and industry best practices
Commitment to ethical conduct, corporate governance principles, and social responsibility
Up-to-date expertise in relevant fields, with knowledge of current industry trends and advancements
Required years of experience
10-15 years in the shared services industry and/or associated business fields, in a senior management capacity, mining experience advantageous
Proven experience implementing large scale business transformation and leading a shared services center
Conditions of Employment
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5pm. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. As per operational requirements.
Compensation:
$280,000-$300,000
