This position is for an Industrial Engineer that applies Industrial Engineering concepts, techniques, analysis and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing and service operations. Designs simple assembly line and sequence of operations.
Checks manufacturability of existing products and implements manufacturing processes and changes to improve products and reduce costs.
Responsibilities:
Improve facilities layout of production floor space to establish maximum utilization of equipment considering economic factors, process flow, and operator efficiency and comfort.
Updates manufacturing documentation such as Work Instructions, Standard Work and others to capture the best sequence of steps to follow to manufacture a conforming product.
Performs Manufacturing Process Reviews to capture any tribal knowledge from seasoned technicians into manufacturing documents.
Identifies opportunities or implements changes, on a need basis, to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts to optimize productivity and ensure optimal use of resources.
Audits manufacturability of existing products, and recommends modifications or adaptations to address quality, customer, product, or productivity constraints.
Involved with Line Balancing (Time studies, Yamazumi charts, Operator Load Cell, Process Flow and others) and Lean Manufacturing (VSM, Kaizen, Kanban, One Piece Flow, Material presentation, Visual Management) projects.
Leads root cause analysis for product quality concerns.
Determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow, and establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
Prepare cost estimates for proposed projects and provide cost benefit analysis by evaluating cost factors and schedules. Plan, execute, and document engineering economic challenges.
Maintain awareness of start-of-the-art technology and the applicability of how it can be leveraged to improve the Company's competitive position in the assigned area.
Develop solutions to a variety of Industrial Engineering problems.
Develop tools that enable manufacturing, aid process improvement or address safety concerns.
Research new processes, methods, and equipment and make recommendations to achieve continuous improvement in assigned areas of the factory.
Design, develop, and improve station loading/line balancing.
Create and maintain a factory staffing plan based on sales demand.
Demonstrates the ability to follow through with work assignments and support management's policies and procedures.
Is able to provide the status of work assignments at any time and can quickly produce any documentation or information that is needed.
Uses various software packages to maintain and update documents and records.
Develops plans that are aligned with corporate policies and budgets.
Displays a compassionate attitude toward the needs of others.
Maintains a daily to-do list which helps to prioritize schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
SAP routings required
AutoCad 2D experience is required
Root Cause Analysis and Line Balancing experience is preferred.
Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred
Education:
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
