Daily responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Enforce jobsite safety programs and incident reporting procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety plans.
- Schedule and coordinate subcontractor activities and material deliveries.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential issues.
- Conduct daily jobsite inspections to assess quality and productivity.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance to project specifications.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, photos, and inspection records.
- Obtain necessary permits and inspections from local authorities.
- Manage project closeout, including punch list completion and final inspections.
- Lead and mentor project teams, including assistant superintendents and project managers.
- Provide guidance and support to field personnel.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Manage labor and material costs, including timekeeping and cost coding.
- Prepare and submit project reports.
- Coordinate with the project management team on budget and schedule updates.
- Complete required training and certifications.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 7-10+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on retail projects
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency in construction safety practices and OSHA regulations
- Knowledge of construction estimating, scheduling, and project management principles
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Valid driver's license
- OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
- Confined Space Awareness, Defensive Driving, First Aid/CPR/AED certifications (preferred)
