We are seeking a full-time Senior Associate for our Houston, Texas Office.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

Qualifications:
  • Analyzes, develops, and prepares claims by evaluating project planning; costs; schedules; construction-related claims; and quantification of damages in the areas of standard of care, schedule delay and acceleration, productivity loss, late and/or excessive changes, deficient drawings and specifications, due diligence, etc.
  • Prepares expert report segments, exhibits, charts, graphics, and presentations for expert witness use during mediation, arbitration, and litigation and develops graphics and demonstrative aids
  • Delegates and leads consultants providing guidance, monitors progress, and reviews quality of work products
  • Performs industry and legal research for strategy and fact checking for reports
  • Provides high quality analysis and develop creative strategies and conclusions for problem construction projects and projects in dispute
  • Assists in quality assurance generating reports and presentations for expert witness use during mediation, arbitration, and litigation and developing graphics and demonstrative aids
  • Involvement in multiple small to medium client engagements simultaneously, along with segments of larger projects to support principal consultants
  • Interacts and communicates with a variety of individuals at multiple levels within and outside of the organization with minimal supervision required
  • Coordinates with clients to communicate work progress and status, attends client meetings, and sets expectations for meeting client goals and deadlines
  • Generates work leads through managing and expanding projects; develops leads and follows up on potential projects; prepares qualification packages and proposals; and creates thought leadership articles, white papers, case studies, and presentations
  • Participates in office initiatives such as vendor procurement, staff training, mentoring, and recruiting

Education & Skills:
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, architecture, accounting, business
  • 5-10 years of professional work in consulting, construction, project management, engineering, accounting, scheduling, and/or business demonstrating a progression in responsibility and accomplishment of increasingly difficult tasks
  • English fluency required and proficiency or fluency in other languages is a plus
  • MBA or MS a plus, but not required
  • Proficient experience with MS Office software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop; working knowledge of InDesign and Illustrator is a plus
  • Knowledge of industry software such as Oracle Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Access, and databases such as Ringtail, Relativity, and DISCO
  • Willingness and ability to develop business and provide presentations
  • Commitment to mentor and train younger consultants
  • Skilled at written and verbal communications
  • Self-motivated with effective time management skills and an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Proven self-starter with a record of continuing education or professional development
  • Exhibits leadership skills through effective management of consultants and multiple assignments
  • Is a member of, or not a member but periodically participates in, professional/industry communities such as SCLNA, ABA, HBA, ABC, DBIA, SMPS, AGC, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively in a professional team environment on multiple assignments
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, writing, oral and written communications, problem solving, and presentation skills
  • Communicates clearly and timely with senior managing consultants/principal consultants to keep them fully informed of the work status
