Job Description:

? Role: Lead Software Engineer - Product Engineering

???? Industry: Renewable Energy and Battery Storage

???? Location: Austin, TX

???? Salary: $160,000 - $180,000 + Equity

This is an incredible opportunity to join a rapidly growing technology firm specialising in home energy services, with a novel approach to household distributed battery storage. As the use of renewable energy increases, existing networks become less dependable and more expensive. My client present a wiser solution: an all-in-one home battery system that lowers outages, balances energy bills, and ensures consistent backup power.

It is the only one of its type in Texas, providing a house battery, monthly energy plan, and installation without the need of solar panels. Customers save money by charging the battery while energy rates are low and discharging it when they rise. They are a Series A firm that received $70 million in their last fundraising round.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead Feature Development: Drive the design and implementation of features across the system, ensuring a cohesive and high-quality user experience.
  • Own the Customer Journey: The frontend team is responsible for every aspect of the customer experience, including:
  • Exploring and learning about the company.
  • Providing a seamless real-time energy dashboard.
  • Delivering a smooth outage management experience.
  • Ensuring transparent billing and timely notifications.
  • Advocate for User Experience: Focus on delivering exceptional user experiences, prioritizing customer satisfaction over specific technologies.
  • Architect High-Quality Solutions: As a senior frontend engineer, guide architectural decisions to build scalable, performant, and maintainable systems that empower a world-class user experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Leadership in Modern Frontend Development: Proven experience leading development using modern SPA frameworks or mobile app platforms.
  • Platform and API Integration: Proficiency in designing and working with platform architectures and APIs to enable seamless frontend-backend communication.
  • Data-Driven Product Development: Familiarity with leveraging user data and analytics to inform design and feature decisions.
  • End-to-End Feature Ownership: Demonstrated ability to lead the entire lifecycle of feature development, from ideation to deployment.
  • Technical Excellence: A deep understanding of software engineering principles and the ability to solve complex, challenging problems.
  • Customer-Centric Thinking: Strong ability to empathize with users and design experiences that meet their needs.
