Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Leads sustaining engineering projects to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). Initiates and implements programs to continuously improve manufacturing processes.
Performs safety risk assessments and implements appropriate risk mitigations. Collaboratively develops tools, such as machine guarding, to effectively drive safety metrics.
Designs, develops, and qualifies tooling and processes to meet safety, quality and production standards.
Documents all processes and tooling in applicable systems (SAP, TLM).
Acts as interface between engineering and manufacturing / production.
Maintains and adheres to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Innovation:
BS in manufacturing or mechanical engineering, or related engineering degree, equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Basic knowledge of technical tools specific to the job function: e.g. CAD, CAE, industrial or quality engineering tools.
Basic awareness of general engineering tools (LEAN or 6-sigma) such as DoE, FMEA, QFD, etc.
Track record of project completions that deliver business results. Experience with safety risk assessments and machine guarding is a plus.
