Upstate Capital Association of New York (https://upstatecapital.org/) is the premier organization connecting investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to drive economic growth and innovation across the Upstate New York region.
With a mission to enhance access to capital and foster meaningful connections, Upstate Capital plays a vital role in building a thriving business ecosystem that supports new ventures, scales successful companies, and bolsters regional economic resilience. At its core, Upstate Capital bridges the gap between capital providers-venture capitalists, private equity professionals, and institutional investors-and companies seeking funding. Through high-quality events, strategic networking opportunities, and storytelling that highlights regional success, the organization creates pathways for impactful collaborations that lead to transformative outcomes.
A key part of Upstate Capital's mission is realized through its 501(c)(3) affiliate, the Capital Foundation. The foundation spearheads flagship programs like the New York Business Plan Competition (NYBPC), the largest intercollegiate entrepreneurship competition in the state, and Invest NY, an innovation ecosystem platform that maps and tracks startups and emerging technologies across the region. These initiatives empower entrepreneurs, inspire innovation, and bring visibility to Upstate New York's burgeoning business landscape.
