We are seeking a highly motivated Computer Programmer/Imaging Data Analyst interested in working on applications programming and data analysis at the Laureate Institute for Brain Research. The successful candidate will have two areas of responsibility: 1) programming and maintaining python, shell, and web applications for data handling and assessment and for administrative tools and 2) analyzing and interpreting high-dimensional functional MRI (fMRI) neuroimaging data using both standard and novel methods. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge research and to contribute to the development of new methods for analyzing and interpreting these data to gain insights into causes of psychiatric conditions.
The MS level data scientist will work to support an imaging facility as well as participate in the MR Facility Director's research program. This will require a range of skills from the writing and maintenance of basic image data handling programs to neuroimaging processing pipelines to working in GUI design for novel devices to tools for facility management. Example projects include large scale image analysis of MRI data acquired from novel imaging sequences to characterize tissue composition in studies of 500+ subjects; evaluation of a range of fMRI acquisition and processing methods; development of a SWIFT GUI for a novel medical device; establishment of image data preprocessing pipelines; development and maintenance of administrative python programs for the management of an MRI Facility.
Applicants should be comfortable with mathematical algorithms used or analysis methods on occasion.
