JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
As Director, HSSE, you will lead all operational requirements for Hanwha Shipping and play a pivotal role in supporting the expansion and development of our shipping business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive the implementation of the HSSE Maritime Standards for Hanwha Shipping
Manage the documentation, pro-active follow-up, and analysis of incidents involving Hanwha Shipping owned vessels
Develop, implement and oversee HSSE policies and procedures in addition to ensuring the compliance with such policies and procedures
Coordinate periodic HSSE training
These can be in conjunction with a third party technical manage appointed by Hanwha Shipping
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum 7 years of experience as a Maritime Health, Safety, and Environment (HSSE) technical professional or other Maritime experience with significant HSSE management experience
The individual should have suitable related HSSE qualification(s) or certification for the role
Knowledgeable in analysis of Significant and High-Risk Incidents
Knowledge and the ability to apply national and international legislation (ie; USCG, US CFR, OSHA, MARPOL, SOLAS, ISM) and Industry standards, codes and guidelines (ie; ISGOTT, ICS, IBC) is key to this position
Good command of oral and written English language with familiarity of commercial maritime subject matters. Deep understanding of maritime contracts and interaction with the fleet across the entire value chain
Able to maintain a good working relationships resolving disputes when they arise.

Maritime qualifications with seagoing experience
Work Authorization:
The ideal candidate for this role will have authorization to work in the US prior to joining Hanwha. This role will not sponsor or help with the sponsorship for work authorization in the United States.
