Job Title: Development Officer

Our Mission: Parents Challenge disrupts the legacy of educational failure by empowering parents. We provide our families with information, training, mentoring, tools, and financial resources to equip them to choose the education they think best for their children.

Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and driven Development Officer to help advance the mission of Parents Challenge. This role combines fundraising and donor engagement strategies to ensure the sustainability of our organization. You will work to cultivate relationships with donors, identify new funding sources, research and prepare grants and ensure our programs and services continue to thrive. As a key player on our team, you will guide our development efforts to ensure our outreach resonates with current and potential supporters.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy Implementation:
  • Assist in the creation and execution of the annual fundraising plan.
  • Identify and pursue new funding sources, including individual donors, corporate sponsorships, grants, and major gifts.

Donor Engagement and Stewardship:
  • Cultivate and maintain meaningful relationships with current and prospective donors through personalized communication.
  • Develop and implement donor recognition and stewardship programs to enhance loyalty and continued support.

Development Research and Writing:
  • Research grant opportunities and craft compelling proposals to secure necessary funding.
  • Ensure the timely submission of grant applications and reports to funders.
  • Conduct development research to define target audiences and optimize strategies.

Data Management and Reporting:
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate donor records in the CRM system.
  • Analyze fundraising data and provide reports to assess performance, identify opportunities, and optimize strategies.

Networking and Community Engagement:
  • Represent Parents Challenge at community events, networking functions, and meetings.
  • Build partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and other stakeholders to amplify our efforts.

Campaign Management:
  • Oversee the development and execution of multi-channel campaigns, ensuring their success and timely delivery.
  • Manage campaigns across digital (SEO, SEM, social media, email), print, events, and public relations platforms.
  • Lead development efforts to engage and build relationships with our audience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong relationship-building and strategic communication skills
• Proficiency in Office Suite, high comfort level with CRM/database systems
• Ability to manage multiple projects with a strong sense of urgency and focus on deadlines.
• Enthusiastic self-starter, able to identify problems and develop solutions
• Ability to work independently in a flexible, self-paced environment.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Non-Profit Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in fundraising, development, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in fundraising software and CRM systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Passion for the mission of Parents Challenge.

Working Conditions:
  • Flexibility in working hours, with occasional evening and weekend commitments for events.
  • Travel may be required for donor meetings and events.

Compensation:
• Competitive salary - Range $90K - $115K and benefit package, including health, dental and vision insurance; Simple plan 401(k), with corporate match; plus other benefits. No relocation package included.
