Our client, a well-known fashion retailer based in DTLA, is looking for an Assistant Buyer to join their team contract-to-hire!
Pay: $60-65K, depending on experience
Responsibilities:
Supporting the Buying team with purchase order management and processing markdowns
Conduct basic analysis of key business data for the Buyer, monitoring of regional merchandise reports, OTB, stock analysis and other ad hoc analysis
Develop effective relationships with vendors, following up on shipments and resolving problems to ensure product is delivered and processed as directed by the Buyer
Develop foundational product knowledge through in person shopping and competitive analysis
Track planned receipt flow on a consistent basis. Display awareness of when merchandise is being received and make call outs to Buyer.
Support Buyers in preparation of key business meetings (i.e. vendor appointments, style-outs, assortment planning) including formatting of reports
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field required
1+ years of relevant experience in buying/merchandising
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Analytical mindset and comfortable with retail math
Excellent communication skills
Adaptable and receptive to feedback
Ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment
