Summary
To better enable our primary focus of developing innovative products for the US market, we are seeking a creative engineer to lead innovation projects for the US market. The ultimate results expected are execution of projects resulting in unique, innovative and compelling new products and services for Midea in the US market. This is a full-time position. Some international travel is required.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Utilizes new innovation idea generation activities to convert ideas to concepts
Leads innovation projects to develop novel new products and features
Supervises university coop students
Researches potential new technologies for product inspiration
Works with university partners, idea incubator(s) and other outside relationships for research collaboration and adoption.
Inspires US team to push boundaries for product and service ideas
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
5-10 years experience in consumer product development with 3-5 years experience in innovative product development roles
Experience using consumer insights to drive product development
Good knowledge of engineering product development processes
Experience with new and emerging technology identification and development
Experience with innovation processes and idea generation
Working knowledge of intellectual property and protection
Familiarity with open innovation and collaboration in an engineering environment
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
MBA
Knowledge of US agency and compliance standards.
Knowledge of smart appliance and user interface technology
Experience in joint product development & agreements
Expertise in driving idea generation processes into organization
