About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Processing R&D Specialist with expertise and experience in probiotics processing science and technology. The ideal candidate will be an expert in fermentation and downstream processing, bringing a deep understanding of the latest advancements in these fields. This role is crucial for driving innovation and ensuring the highest standards in our probiotic product development.
Key responsibilities
Support Probiotics Processing Science
Optimize upstream bioprocessing via lab scale fermentation, including growth media formulation, cryoprotectant formulation, and process parameters.
Support End-to-End Processing: upstream and downstream processes including freezing, freeze drying, and spray drying.
Establish and Support Internal Production: Focus on biomass production, efficiency, and stability.
Support External Production: Collaborate with TPM Network for probiotic production.
Provide Technical Product Support for Commercialization, partnering with Process Technologists and engineers.
Govern Product Processing Parameters: Oversee release criteria captured in TDS & COA
Support future internal and external manufacturing requirements in the area of probiotics
Investigate and implement new processing, analytical, and fermentation technologies.
Qualifications and skills
Bachelor's Degree: A degree in microbiology, biotechnology, food science, biochemistry, engineering, or related fields
Advanced Degrees: A Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field can be highly beneficial
Highly experienced in the science of processing probiotics
Strong stakeholder management and project delivery capabilities
Subject matter expert
Expertise and experience in probiotics processing science and technology
Expert in fermentation and downstream processing.
Expertise and experience in probiotics processing science and technology
Expert in upstream bioprocessing of probiotics, with a strong knowledge of the end-to-end process.
The typical hiring range for this role is $73,758 to $108,755 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements.
