We seek a highly experienced Senior Controls Project Manager to oversee complex projects in the commercial mechanical construction sector, with a strong focus on building automation and control systems. This role involves managing HVAC, DDC, and BAS integrations from concept to completion. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with technical expertise and project management skills to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the entire project lifecycle for control system implementations, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Lead the design, installation, and commissioning of advanced BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Alerton, Distech, and Johnson Controls Metasys.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize project workflows, including engineers, subcontractors, and technicians.
Ensure adherence to codes, standards, and customer specifications through detailed project oversight and reporting.
Act as the primary liaison with clients, addressing technical inquiries and resolving project challenges to ensure client satisfaction.
Drive continuous improvement in project execution and delivery.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. EIT or PE licensure is a plus.
At least 8 years of experience in controls or building automation project management, with a stable and local work history.
Advanced knowledge of BAS platforms, including Tridium Niagara, ALC, Schneider Electric, and Johnson Controls Metasys.
Competence in AutoCAD, Visio, and BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks. Familiarity with Bluebeam and MS Project is required.
Industry-related certifications in controls or project management (e.g., PMP, CEM) are highly desirable.
Exceptional organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities with excellent communication skills.
