The Area Facilities Manager oversees campuses' repairs and maintenance of all facilities within a geographical region, acting as the contact for emergency situations that affect the campus's ability to run day to day operations. Additionally, the Area Facilities Manager will oversee campuses' landscape, PBS staff, and FMs. The Area Facilities Manager will answer directly Area Superintendent.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma
Associate's degree or 2+ years' experience in project management, certificate in trade school or equivalent work experience related to project management, vendor management, facilities and/or maintenance.
Maintain a valid Texas driver's license at all times throughout employment.
Special Knowledge/Skills:

Must have basic understanding of how buildings and their systems work.

Experience:
3+ years of related experience
Essential Performance Responsibilities:
Perform daily duties in assigned areas that may include, but not limited to:
Acts as the primary support for all campus FMs for any building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies and repairs, janitorial services).
Train campus staff to develop their capacity to address minor building issues i.e. changing light bulbs, air filters, water leaks, etc.
Monitors contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications to include janitorial.
On-Call to respond to building emergencies, 24 hours a day may including nights and holidays.
Maintain logs for inventory, supplies etc. to report annual budget required for operations, maintenance and landscaping.
Solicits bids and quotes from vendors, submit recommendations to supervisor for final decisions. Conduct routine campus inspections and maintenance as preventative measures.
Assess campus repairs i.e. plumbing, roofing, electrical and determine if a contractor will need to be called.
Supports and coordinates Area events, including set up, take down.
Transports goods or equipment as assigned.
Ensure campuses are maintaining logs of door audits, daily maintenance logs, staff request logs, etc.
Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor.
Additional Duties:
Work may occasionally occur outside of the regular work day, including nights and weekends and/or holidays.

Physical and Mental Demands:
Be able to walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl and reach for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds
Must be comfortable and able to work on a ladder of 20 feet, and a lift.
Must be able to work independently without direct supervision
Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and reliable vehicle
Equipment:
Uses hand tools of trade and related power equipment, including brooms, mops, floor cleaning and waxing machines, vacuum cleaners, shovels, power mower and hand tools. The
ability to use basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine. Must always comply with IL Texas guidelines for equipment use.
Travel:
Daily travel between schools required. Trips to Dallas (HQ) as needed.
Employee Punctuality and Appearance:
In order for schools to operate effectively, employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday, unless the employee has received approved leave
Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee's supervisor or building administrator
All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of ILTexas and is appropriate for their position
