Moore Colson has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, experienced, and self-motivated (Tax) Processing Assistant to join our growing team in Atlanta!
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of well-rounded experience in a tax administrative assistant role. Candidates with professional services firm experience preferred. Successful candidates will be relationship oriented, efficient, critical thinkers with superior attention to detail, organizational and communication skills.

This position will play an instrumental role in supporting the firm's long-term plans and will serve our Tax practice area. Under the supervision of the Tax Operations Manager, this individual will play a key role in ensuring our Tax Department exceeds client expectations. An accountable self-starter, our ideal candidate sets and meets goals and has a proven track record of performing well within the team environment as well as working independently.
Tax Processing Assistant will be responsible for (but not limited to):
Help move projects toward completion by performing project and office administration tasks, including file management, maintaining project deliverables, and team collaboration.
Review processed tax returns - confirm filing instructions are accurate, all e-filed returns and paper returns have been processed correctly, place sign-here stickies on paper returns for client signature, confirm envelopes are accurate.
Assist with new client set-up in CRM.
Assist with the preparation of individual organizers on an annual basis via SafeSend.
Assist with the retrieval of individual tax documentation through multiple platforms, including SafeSend and Suralink.
Occasional help with archiving copies of tax returns in Suralink and the CCH Engagement Permanent Folder.
Occasionally help rolling forward Suralink tax return engagement folders on an annual basis.
Occasional help with the US Mail and FedEx for Tax Department - FedEx end of day drop-offs, at the local hub, can become a daily activity during the months of March, April, September, and October.
Provide responsive, accurate, and approachable customer service.
Consistently meet deadlines while maintaining high quality work, and client and team relations.
Occasional phone assistance for lunch coverage.
Other administrative tasks and special projects, as needed.
Requirements:
College degree preferred but not required.
5+ years of experience in a Tax Administrative Assistant position required.
Must be familiar with the various tax return filings, as well as the due dates.
High computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, required, and project management software experience preferred).
Must be self-directed, autonomous, and motivated, able to multi-task, and highly detail oriented.
Flexibility to handle projects, sometimes on short notice, providing support to Moore Colson professional staff.
Proactive and exceptional communication skills (verbal and written).
High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Ability to work additional hours as needed, including overtime and weekend hours during busy seasons (typically February-April and September-October).
