Role 


Provide for the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable- AP accounting functions, including expense reimbursement administration, general ledger related responsibilities and scheduled & ad hoc reporting.


Responsibilities 



  • Partner with Property Management to ensure recurring billing and escalations translate properly into the landowner rent run resulting in accurate disbursements.

  • Run daily, weekly, and monthly process to generate landowner payments. Issue disbursements including cutting checks, preparing ACH files and setting up EFT payment through the bank website. 

  • Perform quality control assessment and ensure landowner invoices and check requests are approved in accordance with the Commitment Authority Policy.

  • Complete account reconciliations and journal entries on a timely basis.

  • Understand and execute banking activities, including daily bank positive pay exceptions and file maintenance, when applicable.

  • Create ad-hoc reports for internal and external business partners as requested.

  • Assists with preparation of AP quarterly metrics.

  • Continually analyze processes for efficiencies and provide recommendations to improve the AP workflow. Assist AP Supervisor and AP Manager in the implementation of such enhancements as well as other system upgrades, integrations, and other projects.

  • Shows discretion when working with sensitive employee data.

  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s control environment to ensure compliance with SOX.

  • Assists with 1099 preparation and payee inquiries.

  • Assist in the education of internal/external customers on AP processes.

  • Holds self accountable for customer service provided to internal and external business partners.


Expectations  



  • Understands AP processes as well as basic financial statement fundamentals, ledgers, and journal entries.

  • Working knowledge of JD Edwards or other similar accounting software

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook

  • Ability to work well on a team and collaborate with internal and external business partners

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Advanced problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize, organize and work effectively in a fast-paced environment


Education/Certifications   



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance or related discipline preferred


Experience/Minimum Requirements   



  • Two (2) years of related general accounting experience

Reports to: Accounts Payable Manager or Supervisor

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  On Mondays and Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home.  There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel.
