Job Description:

Job Title: Social Worker - Adult Behavioral Health Therapist

Location: Southgate, MI

Shift: Monday-Thursday (8:30 AM - 7:00 PM), Friday (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join the Adult Behavioral Health team. The therapist will manage a caseload of clients with primary mental health and/or co-occurring substance use diagnoses, providing therapy, conducting assessments, and coordinating care. This role is ideal for someone passionate about improving the well-being of adults and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver clinical services, including intake evaluations and direct treatment for individuals and families.
  2. Assess and document client needs using person-centered planning principles.
  3. Provide individual and group therapy.
  4. Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, schools, and other support personnel to ensure comprehensive care.
  5. Maintain compliance with all licensure and contractual requirements.
  6. Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and case consultations.
  7. Complete clinical records and documentation in a timely manner.
  8. Uphold a professional code of ethics and cultural competency standards.
  9. Facilitate effective discharge planning for case closures.
  10. Complete 24 hours of training in treating adults with mental health and/or co-occurring substance use disorders.


Qualifications:

Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.

Licensure:
  • Must hold or obtain a Michigan state licensure (LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC, or LLP) within 60 days of hire. An extension of up to 60 days may be granted at the employer's discretion.
  • Licenses must remain active and free from disciplinary actions throughout employment.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience (including fieldwork or internships) treating individuals diagnosed with mental illness.
  • Must obtain Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) credentials within 120 days of hire.

Skills:
  • Ability to work independently and maintain therapeutic relationships.
  • Strong organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Cultural competency and flexibility in working with diverse populations.

  • Travel: Mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use at IRS standards ($0.64 per mile).

About the Role:

This position involves managing a caseload of approximately 50 active cases and working as part of a large multidisciplinary team. Evening hours may be required based on program needs.
