We are partnered with a leading household brand with multiple facilities across North America, specializing in innovative thermoforming solutions for diverse industries. With a strong commitment to operational excellence and sustainable practices, our client is embarking on an exciting growth journey. To support this trajectory, we are seeking a visionary Director of Engineering to lead and elevate their engineering function across all locations.
This is a newly created position where we're looking for someone with a solid knowledge of both thermoforming and plastics experience. This role will oversee a large and talented team of engineers and technical professionals, driving innovation, standardization and efficiency across our client's facilities. Being a member of senior leadership, this role will shape the engineering strategy and play a pivotal role in the success of operations. This position requires an experienced leader with in-depth knowledge of thermoforming processes and machinery and the ability to relocate to the corporate headquarters.
Director of EngineeringResponsibilities:
Lead, mentor and develop a large, multi-site engineering team to achieve peak performance
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and accountability
Develop and implement a unified engineering strategy across all North American facilities
Standardize processes, equipment and best practices to drive consistency and efficiency
Oversee the design, optimization and maintenance of thermoforming processes and machinery
Collaborate with operations teams to ensure maximum uptime and productivity across facilities
Lead initiatives to improve product quality, reduce costs and increase production efficiency
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge
Work closely with R&D, supply chain and manufacturing teams to support new product development and production scaling
Serve as the primary engineering liaison to corporate leadership and contribute to company-wide strategic planning
Director of EngineeringRequirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or Plastics Engineering preferred). Master's degree is a plus
10+ years of progressive engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Expertise in thermoforming processes and equipment is required
Proven experience managing large, geographically dispersed teams
Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels
Willingness to relocate to the corporate office location (relocation assistance provided)
