What You Will Do:
As the Production Planner, you will plan and manage the production schedule and inventory levels to meet production goals and customer order timelines.
What You Will Accomplish:
Communicates and collaborates with the BGS Buyer to ensure vendor product is delivered as needed to meet customer orders.
Communicates and collaborates with BGS Supply Chain and Production Teams to ensure internal production schedules are reasonable by monitoring resource capacity and production progress.
Collaborates with Customer Service and Production Teams on production issues, where the sales order shipping schedule may be impacted, to find proactive solutions
Partners with BGS Buyer to research, evaluate, and select appropriate vendors that support purchasing initiatives for the area and lead the negotiation of supply agreements for approval, ensuring price point goals are met.
Monitors and evaluates vendor performance and leads/assists in resolving quality, delivery, and billing issues timely and effectively.
Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are available to meet production needs and customer orders, while ensuring inventory levels stay within parameters.
Position Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree a plus
Experience: 2+ years of purchasing/production planning experience within a manufacturing environment preferred; however, will train the right highly motivated individual. APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) Certificate a plus, but not required
Functional Skills: Solid math, data analysis, and planning or organizing skills are required; Excellent organization, prioritization, and project management skills, with a great attention to detail. Highly analytical with the ability to gather information and make decisions timely and effectively. Ability to learn and apply supply chain best practice concepts.
Technology Skills: Previous ERP/MRP experience required - Oracle experience a plus; Proficient with MS Office

Salary: Salary is commensurate with proven expertise

Core Hours: 7:00am-5:00pm (schedule can be somewhat flexible within this timeframe)
Typical Work Week: M-F; 45 hours per week on average
