Job Summary:
Buy scrap of quality, condition, delivery, and chemistry in appropriate quantities that is suited to the needs and capabilities of the Ravenswood facility. Coordinate with Central Metals Procurement, Ravenswood Management, Operations, Finance, Sales, and Supply Chain to negotiate the best possible prices and fees for scrap and third-party tolling/processing. Maintain professional relationships with external suppliers, customers, processors and tollers to ensure that Constellium Ravenswood is regarded as a "first choice" for business relations. Work directly and closely with Ravenswood Operations and Supply Chain to ensure that scrap usage goals are met. Contribute to the forecasting, planning, and execution of strategic actions to achieve the goals set by Ravenswood and Corporate leadership.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage change, relative to new metal unit usage (MOC)
Increase alternative scrap and alloying element usage, safely, within environmental compliance limits
Contribute insight, experience and industry knowledge to the development of processes, equipment, techniques, storage, and handling to be employed at Ravenswood and satellite facilities
Customer / supplier visits to find and develop new or increased opportunities
Contribute to development of onsite and third-party process capabilities to use available metal units and alloys
Maintain up to date knowledge and explore new industrial processes, technology, and equipment to externally change the form of metal units which cannot currently be used by Ravenswood
Reduction in prime usage, including high purity grades
Participate in regular meetings and communications with Plant Teams and Management to ensure cohesion with initiatives and strategic plans
Improve on existing processes so that the plant becomes more competitive, efficient, and profitable
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline, required
extensive experience will be considered in lieu of formal education
Minimum of 10 years of experience in melt and casting operations, required
Knowledge of metal procurement, charge planning, and execution, required
