The Deli Source, a cheese conversion and packing company located in Kenosha, WI is looking for an experienced Production Planner & Scheduler to create, modify, and manage production schedules. Hours are generally 8am to 4:30pm Mon-Fri.
Key Responsibilities: Ensuring product is scheduled, communicated, and effectively planned in order to meet the needs of our customers, ensuring that we have the right materials in the right place at the right time.
Duties include controlling production plans, identifying risks, reporting to management, preventing shortages and excesses, handling shipments, and maintaining quality standards.
Develop a master schedule in consultation with management, ensuring all materials are in stock, and overseeing the workflow of the production facility and lead-time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to customer orders.
Plan equipment, material and staffing needs for job order.
Plan and monitor material movement in production cycles to ensure continuous operations.
Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule.
Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
Reschedules production plan based on material availability and manufacturing lead times. Including, managing rejected and rework product planning
Forecast items from the various areas and add quantities to our master production schedule in planned release quantities, which will ensure on time delivery as well as fresh product.
Create, maintain, and adjust daily production schedules for each Production area of the business, which includes all subassembly production as well as all finished production
Review production plans to identify and communicate updates needed to product available dates, based on volume and production date, promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production.
Meets with managers to determine status of assigned projects.
Provides a daily report detailing status of items on back order (unavailable to ship per customer request date.
Expedites operations (internally and externally) that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
Ensures data integrity of schedules, planning data (lead-times, vendor specs, etc.)
Prepares weekly/monthly reports to analyze production/planning data.
Evaluates risks, gaps, or upside potential, and suggests alternatives to lower risk.
Recommending viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality.
Working closely with operations leaders, and others to coordinate manufacturing plans that goals are met
Reconciles all order discrepancies and order changes.
Coordinates manufacturing activities and monitors schedule performance against plan to maintain priorities and meet established schedules.
Meets daily with cross-functional team to resolve delayed customer shipments, component shortages, overtime, priorities, and identified problems.

Expected Qualifications:
At least one year of previous experience as a production planer
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of SAGE, SAP, ERP, systems
Ability to apply logic and reasoning to solve problems, including locating alternative solutions and conclusions, and approaches to problems; and making high-quality, timely decisions.
Effective communication skills and the ability to communicate with employees of all levels.
Solid understanding of GMP practices and compliance guidelines.
Able to manage production deadlines
