Job Description:
We are seeking a talented, forward-thinking Database Developer to join our Navy Readiness Reporting Enterprise (NRRE) team. You will be joining an active team with a great culture of collaboration. The Navy Readiness Reporting Enterprise (NRRE) team develops and maintains software applications supporting U.S. Navy readiness reporting and management.
As a key member of our team, your contributions will be instrumental to our team's success. You will be responsible for taking the lead on major database development tasks, as well as mentoring and coaching your development peers. The ideal candidate will possess a variety of current database and report-building technology skills, be open-minded to learning new technologies. As a developer, you will be responsible for daily development activities, including but not limited to analyzing requirements, designing and developing software solutions, writing unit tests, and participating in code reviews.
You must be a self-starter and a strong problem solver who is willing to leverage and share your expertise while learning new technologies. In this role, you can expect to split your time between our company office in Norfolk and the Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads where our system access point is located.
Responsibilities include:
Manage daily tasking, participating in scheduled team meetings, and assessing requirements for database development needs
Responsible for database project solution structure, configuration management, source code, and documentation
Design, implement and maintain database structures to support Web Software application data retention needs, including providing support for database unit testing, installation, and modification
Here's what you need:
4+ years of experience and strong understanding of databases, including principals of database design and experience interfacing with or designing databases (MS SQL Server), stored procedures
Experience in Server-side Web Application development using Visual Studio and any of the C# Microsoft ASP.NET frameworks, including .Net Core is a plus
Understanding of component framework such as ReactJs, VueJs, Angular
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills within a multi-disciplinary team of peers
Knowledge of and/or experience working in an agile environment
Technical vision with Tech Lead, Solution Architect, and other team developers
Requires strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to express ideas and design benefits/drawbacks to a technical and non-technical audience
