Atlas focuses on construction of self-storage, car condos, municipal, industrial/light warehouse, office, retail, and restaurant facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of ground up, new construction projects, with a keen eye for detail and a proven ability to deliver accurate and timely budget bids. An estimator must be able to work collaboratively with a preconstruction team on projects from $1M to $20M.
A background in construction and working on multiple on-going projects is required. Candidate should have strong attention to detail, communicate well, be self-motivated and well organized.
Responsibilities include: • Generate budgets, estimates and proposals with the understanding of the constructability,
means and methods, logistics, schedule, risk, and profitability of each project. • Meet with clients to discuss options for proposed services. • Review and analyze architectural and engineering plans, specifications, and proposals. • Develop comprehensive cost estimates for all project phases, including underground
utilities, MEP systems, and interior finishes. • Develop detailed scopes of work for subcontractors and suppliers. • Work with preconstruction team to prepare accurate, well-organized estimates in a timely
manner. • Help manage bid organization, strategy, package preparation, proposal review, pricing, and fee
structure. • Analyze project documents, blueprints, and plans to understand the project fully. • Lead/manage multiple bid proposals at same time. • Solicit, organize, and validate subcontractors bid quotations. • The ability to use quantity take-off software and Excel is required. • Maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors, including prequalification. • Assist with final assembly of estimate for presentation to client.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Possess in-depth knowledge of methods, materials and the tools involved in the construction of
commercial projects. • Computer literate Microsoft Office (WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK, PROJECT), proficient with Procore
software or ability to learn in a 3-month period following employment. • Ability to read and interpret construction documents (contracts, plans, specifications, schedules,
etc.) • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. • Possess precise attention to detail. • Ability to solve practical problems and exercise sound judgment. • Be coachable and possess self-awareness • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively under deadlines. • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Thorough knowledge of proper
English usage/grammar, composition, spelling and punctuation. • Ability to represent Atlas with external stakeholders and at corporate events. • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with managers, co-workers,
subcontractors, and vendors. • Possess a valid Florida Driver's License, ability to use personal vehicle for Atlas business and
ability to meet Atlas's minimum insurance requirements. • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
