AcceleratedPM is seeking an experienced Senior Planner/Scheduler with a strong background in pharmaceutical manufacturing projects to join our team. This role is critical for the successful planning, scheduling, and execution of large-scale pharmaceutical construction projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing complex, high-value projects and is deeply skilled in planning processes, resource and cost loading, earned value management, and schedule development based on project quantities.
Location/Travel:
This will be a hybrid role initially, transitioning to full time on site during construction starting late 2025 through 2027.
Duties and responsibilities could include:
Planning and Scheduling
Develop and manage comprehensive project schedule for a large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing new build ($1B+).
Create detailed plans that define the scope, objectives, and timeline of project activities.
Facilitate interactive planning sessions with key trades and other critical stakeholders to drive a more detailed schedule with realistic duration, correct logic and buy-in from all parties.
Cost and Resource Loading
Perform cost and resource loading of schedules, ensuring accurate representation of project needs.
Collaborate with project teams to assess and allocate required resources effectively.
Earned Value Management (EVM)
Implement EVM principles to track project performance against baseline plans.
Conduct regular productivity measurements and analysis to forecast project trends and performance against baseline.
Detailed Schedule Development
Develop quantity-driven schedules that emphasize productivity and progress tracking.
Ensure that schedules are based on accurate quantities (provided by others) rather than task descriptions alone.
Monitoring and Reporting
Analyze and report project progress, productivity trends, and deviations from the baseline.
Provide actionable recommendations to address variances and improve project outcomes.
Collaboration and Leadership
Partner with project managers, cost estimators, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Lead planning and scheduling workshops to align teams and stakeholders on project timelines.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience
Minimum of 10 years in project planning and scheduling within the pharmaceutical sector.
Mega Project Expertise
Proven experience on pharmaceutical manufacturing new builds valued at $300M+ (preferably $1B+).
Planning Skills:
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage detailed project plans beyond scheduling.
Facilitation Skills
Proven ability to lead interactive planning sessions with key trades and stakeholders.
Technical Proficiency
Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 or similar scheduling tools, with experience in resource and cost loading.
Analytical Skills
Strong understanding of earned value management, productivity measurement, and analysis.
Location
Must be based in the Chicagoland area or willing to relocate
