  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of Field Service or Troubleshooting experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Proficient with benchtop lab diagnostic equipment

FULL DESCRIPTION: Develops and manages the complete lifecycle plan of services delivered for the company with an emphasis on product and customer service requirements. Works closely with application/technical support, engineering, R&D and OEM partners and interfaces as member of the Business Unit Team to represent product serviceability and support strategy, including influencing design and development from a service perspective.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:
  • Product Design and Development - Contributes to the design and development phases of the product to ensure its serviceability in the global market. Oversees concept, development and implementation for service plans and functions; identifies project dependencies and conflicts that pose risk to successful completion.
  • Organizational Strategy - Develops and maintains a technical services strategy and network necessary for supporting molecular diagnostics products worldwide.
  • Resources Planning - Ensures appropriate staffing within the technical services team is in place for successful launch and ongoing support; makes sure that resources are being utilized efficiently and appropriately.
  • Documentation and Systems - Develops standard operating procedures including service development plans, creating and maintaining service record forms, related files, etc. required to support the system. Develops an integration plan for complaint handling into existing quality management system, including creation, review and approval of all technical documents (manufacturing drawings, internal technical specifications, specifications and performance data).
  • Partner/Vendor/Business Unit Relationships - Develops and maintains partnerships to effectively communicate with key service interfaces for equipment suppliers, and acts as the primary conduit and engineering escalation point for escalation of service issues.
  • Service Operations - Performs service functions leading to managing other Field Service Engineers to ensure that quality services are provided and customers are satisfied. Provides advanced troubleshooting assistance and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Recommends and designs procedures that will reduce the costs and improve efficiencies of the services.
  • Service Training - Develops and delivers in-house service training for employees including and not limited to service procedures and related company policies and procedures. Actively involved in the hiring and training of new employees as well as working with them in the field to coach and evaluate their performance.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from four-year college or university; or four years related experience and/or training.
  • Advanced Business degree preferred.
  • Proven record of success in leadership and management with emphasis on service plan development and implementation.
  • A clear understanding of molecular diagnostics products is desirable.

Salary Range: $110k-$130k/yr
