Job Summary/Scope The primary duties of the Tissue Recovery Supervisor (TRS) are to supervise the Tissue Recovery Coordinator I (TRC I). This position works with the Tissue Recovery Trainer (TRT) in the development of the tissue department training program, which includes creating training events, monitoring training progress, and documentation of training activities. The TRS will assist in recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling of all TRCs, quality outcomes, and continuing education. The TRS will also help the Manager of Tissue Recovery (MTR) and Director of Tissue Recovery (DTR) with reporting and may be asked to assume various responsibilities of the MTR if they are absent. The TRS will also maintain all skills needed as a Tissue Recovery Coordinator III (TRC III).
Tissue recovery services are critical to the mission of ARORA. The responsibilities and duties of the TRS will require proven effective supervisory skills and motivational and leadership qualities that will engage staff to meet organizational goals. This position requires a high degree of autonomy, including self-scheduling of work time and activities, developing program policies and objectives, providing written reports, and evaluating the quality of work.
Monitors and approves staff time records and overtime requests, ensuring costs are within the designated budget.
Identify staffing needs and assist in recruiting, hiring, and training competent staff to recover potential tissue donors and meet all ARORA's recovery needs.
Verifies and approves TRC I expense reports according to the expense policy.
Work to ensure optimal staffing at all times by serving as an active supervisor, which includes routine frontline shifts and backup support during increased activity levels, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Knowledge of federal, state, and industry laws and regulations related to tissue recovery services.
Maintain current knowledge of ARORA, AATB, EBAA, FDA, and tissue partner policies, procedures, and protocols, and execute job responsibilities per such policies, procedures, and protocols.
Provide daily oversight of tissue recovery services activity to ensure allocation, recovery coordination, and graft utilization meet all regulatory requirements.
Responsible for supervising the TRC I to help facilitate tissue donation through tissue donor screening, recovery, and data coordination with the tissue partners.
Collaborate with the TRT in developing and implementing a tissue department training program.
Develops and maintains TRC call schedule as required.
Serve as a Tissue Administrator-on-Call (AOC).
Participate in an on-call schedule that provides coverage to respond to all referral assessments.
Assist and advise the tissue recovery team with evaluating and screening potential donors while developing a plan that optimizes the potential for positive outcomes. Respond to referral calls and text messages within the designated time allotment.
Conducts internal and external presentations as required.
Participate in training sessions provided by ARORA to learn the policies, procedures, and protocols established by ARORA for recovery services.
Maintain all the essential functions of TRC III, including knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Secondary Functions
Works jointly with members of the Quality Department to ensure that tissue staff members complete required tasks in time.
Works jointly with Managers of Donation Support, Family Services, and Organ to develop and implement strategies that are critical to recovery operations such as communication, documentation, and intradepartmental collaboration.
Activates occurrence reporting when applicable, investigating and performing root cause analyses as needed.
Participates in the development, implementation, and updating of internal policies, procedures, and job aids as they relate to tissue operations.
Works with appropriate staff to maintain supplies for recovery operations.
Seek the advice of ARORA's Medical Director or their designee about recovery services when appropriate.

Repetitive Motion: While performing some essential functions of your position, you may be required to perform some functions repeatedly. When such tasks are not performed properly, injury can result.
Minimum Weightlifting Requirement: While performing some essential functions of your position, you may be required to do some lifting, moving, pushing, or pulling. When such tasks are not performed properly, injury can result. Must have the ability to lift minimum weight of 55 lbs.
Prolonged Sitting, Standing, and Bending: While performing some essential functions of your position, you may be required to sit, stand, or bend for an extended period of time. When such tasks are not performed properly, injury can result. Precautions and/or equipment should be used when performing this task.
Competency Evaluation: Competency evaluations are required for this position. Your supervisor will notify you when your evaluation is to be conducted.
Training: You may need additional training to better understand the performance requirements of your essential job functions. Training classes are available and can be requested and/or assigned. Your attendance at such classes is mandatory.
Work Environment
Works in various locations, including normal office environment, hospital, and other locations as essential and secondary functions necessitates.
Required to travel by personal vehicle to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Required to carry a cellular telephone for business purposes.
May require travel by commercial or chartered aircraft.

Work Hours
ARORA is a 24/7 operation and will require this position to work 12 and or 24-hour shifts. TRS may be required to work evenings, holidays, weekends, and mandatory overtime as required.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree preferred; 5 years' experience in FDA regulated environment can be substituted for education preference; at least 2 years paraprofessional medical experience.
CTBS or CEBT certification required.
Maintain a valid driver's license, reliable automobile, and proof of automobile insurance.
Must maintain required vaccination and/or health screenings to minimize the potential for disease transmission.
