ResponsibilitiesReview the census tracker and KIPU or other EMR to confirm the accuracy of charges to be billed.Create and submit claims to appropriate payors.Review data on insurance policies to ensure accurate claim processing and payment.Accurately utilize the billing system.Ensure corrected claims are submitted promptly.Prepare materials for submission to insurance companies as requested.Contact clients to collect outstanding account balances.Maintain confidentiality of patient care and business.Demonstrate strong, professional communication and interpersonal skills with clients, the public, managers, and co-workers.Maintain accurate and thorough records.Demonstrate the ability to act as a team player professionally and positively.Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisorThis is a full-time remote position.Qualifications1-year minimum healthcare experience with behavioral health billing required.Basic understanding of insurance terminology (out-of-network benefits vs. in-network benefits, coinsurance, co-pays, and deductibles) and general billing practices.Coding/Billing Certificate from an accredited institute or school is preferred.Experience with behavioral health treatment is required.1-year minimum experience billing Medi-Cal preferred.
