The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for creating additional value to operative managers in this respective functional area by providing them more insight about the financial performance of their business and support them by proposing and tracking improvement initiatives and actions.
The Senior Financial Analyst provides function specific reports and KPIs incl. comments on trends and abnormalities and engages in regular business reviews with the functional managers, coordinates the function specific planning and forecasting and drives function specific projects like business plans, investment calculations, cost reductions, etc.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
Supporting during month end close with various responsibilities such as analyzing structural costs and product/business center margins, assist in preparing financial statements, and analyzing trends/variances.
Identifying discrepancies during month end close that may need to be further investigated.
Calculating quarterly accruals and supporting schedules.
Reviewing the department processes to identify gaps that can be improved with alignment to German reporting standards.
Liaison between departments to improve processes that have a financial impact to the company.
Leading in various projects and providing road maps, current process/task, issue at hand, and potential changes.
Support during Internal Controls and Financial Audits with documentations and schedules.
Support in implementation of SAP S4/Hana project, going live in December 2025.
Financial Analysis and Special projects (i.e.)
Ad Hoc profitability reporting for projects
Prepare financial presentations
Experience
Requires 4-5 years of experience in Accounting/Controlling, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Individual must posses strong analytical skills and be proficient in Microsoft Excel. Must be able to communicate financial concepts and results to non-financial staff. Basic technical and business understanding required in order to participate in discussions with management. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Education
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or similar is required.
