  • Oversee and manage all accounting functions within the logistics operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain and reconcile all balance sheet accounts, including detailed schedules for key accounts such as prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets.
  • Develop and maintain cost accounting practices specific to logistics, including tracking transportation and warehousing costs, labor, and overhead.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations, such as transportation costs, warehousing costs, and asset utilization.
  • Oversee the budget and forecasting process, analyzing variances, and providing insights to improve financial performance.
  • Manage cash flow, monitor working capital, and oversee credit and collections to ensure liquidity and financial stability.
  • Review and approve expense reports, invoices, and capital expenditures, ensuring proper classification and compliance.
  • Coordinate and support annual audits, preparing schedules and documentation, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to provide financial guidance on key initiatives, cost reduction efforts, and process improvements.
  • Prepare regulatory filings and ensure compliance with relevant tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead or participate in special projects aimed at improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing internal controls.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • Proven experience in a controller role within the logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and logistics-related financial metrics.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems, preferably in a logistics setting.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP/IFRS and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively across departments
