Overview
As a CAD Manager, you will lead a team of CAD technicians, ensuring that design projects are completed accurately and on time. Your role includes overseeing software management, conducting quality assurance checks, and enforcing company standards across all deliverables. You'll collaborate closely with project managers and engineers, while also providing mentorship and training to your team. Additionally, you'll manage resources and troubleshoot design-related issues to maintain efficient workflows throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of CAD technicians, ensuring high-quality and timely project delivery.
Oversee CAD software management, updates, and customization to optimize design workflows.
Conduct quality assurance checks and enforce CAD standards to maintain accuracy and consistency.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to align design output with project goals and client expectations.
Manage resources, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide training to enhance team performance.
Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related field, or equivalent technical certifications.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in CAD management, including proficiency in CAD software e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation (OpenRoads Designer a plus) and workflow customization.
Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring and developing CAD technicians.
Strong understanding of civil engineering design standards, quality control processes, and drafting best practices.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of troubleshooting technical issues and managing resources efficiently.
