Within our Analytical Services team, we have a functional service provider solution, which is a unique partnership that allows our customers to leverage the experience of our staff, while allowing you, the employee, to gain direct experience working onsite at a pharmaceutical/ biopharmaceutical company, all while maintaining full-time benefits.
Key responsibilities:
Maintain insect and mammalian cell cultures, perform cell transfections for recombinant protein expression.
Contribute to the design of new constructs and mutants based on structural analysis.
Work closely with the protein production and biophysics teams to select the best constructs and conditions for structural and animal studies.
Carry out protein purification tasks as required by the project to generate structural reagents.
Perform biochemical and biophysical experiments to characterize the purified proteins.
Document your work and ensure appropriate quality control experiments are carried out to support intellectual property and reagent reuse by other groups.
Present results and progress updates at team meetings.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunology, Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology or similar
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 6+ years') or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
1+ year's hands on experience on the protein expression, purification in the research lab or biological manufacture facility is preferred.
Hands on experience on common lab technics including liquid chromatography (SEC, ion-exchange, affinity columns), SDS-PAGE, western blot.
Computer skills in Windows operating system and common office software (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in molecular biology techniques, cloning, PCR, Gel electrophoresis
Knowledge of biophysical techniques for characterization of antibody-antigen complexes such as Mass Photometry/Spectroscopy, Differential Scanning Fluorimetry (DSF), HPLC, Differential Scanning calorimetry (DSC), isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI) and Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) is a plus.
Able to efficiently manage uncertainty, changes in priority and timeline restrictions.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $40.00-$55.00.
