ACCOUNTANT

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

The Pilot is a 104-year-old media and marketing solutions company, that is looking to fill an Accounts Payable position.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Accounts Payable Clerk to handle the day-to-day processing of all invoices and payments for The Pilot. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review and process vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensure all invoices are properly coded, authorized, and compliant with company policies.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
• Prepare and process weekly or monthly payments to vendors via check, ACH, or wire transfer.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures by ensuring that all accounts payable transactions are accurately recorded.
• Maintain and update vendor records and contact information.
• Work closely with the Finance team to prepare reports, assist with audits, and provide support for other accounting functions as needed.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and reporting requirements related to accounts payable.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the finance department.

REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an accounts payable or similar accounting role.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms).
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
