The IT Infrastructure Director leads a cross-functional team responsible for planning, building, and managing a cloud-based technology infrastructure to support organizational objectives. This role oversees the Microsoft Azure and M365 environment, ensures cybersecurity compliance, and drives business continuity strategic planning and design. The Director is accountable for setting the infrastructure strategy, aligning it with organizational goals, and implementing operational best practices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Directs teams, ensuring they are working together effectively. Partners with and integrates across other areas of the company, resolving conflicts and managing competing priorities, to provide a complete solution. • Accountable for the technical direction of the group, develops the infrastructure strategy and road-map, and ensures its integration with the broader IT and enterprise strategic plans. • Re-prioritizes and reallocates resources as appropriate based on changing business needs. • Ensures quality, compliance and fiscal standards are met for the department. • Leads the evaluation of emerging Infrastructure technologies and tools • Establish key performance indicators and service level objectives for continually improving the performance of IT operations • Manages the successful resolution of end user issues, including sensitive situations. • Oversees the monitoring, maintenance, upgrade and administration of infrastructure systems to achieve availability, performance, and security objectives. • Reviews performance and capacity of IT systems to manage the optimization of operating costs, improve operational efficiency, increase reliability and performance, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements. • Responsible for IT disaster recovery, including planning, documentation, implementation and testing for all platforms. • Manages 3rd party vendor and service providers; performance and SLA's, incident handling and issue/problem resolution and escalation • Implements strategies to attract, retain, motivate, and develop talent in their department. • Improves work procedures and processes for area managed continually. • Communicates clearly and precisely with all levels of the company, including virtual collaboration. • Ensures that key business and IT information is disseminated throughout the organization. • Partners across the IT organization to support departmental projects and deliver the technology portfolio. • Other duties as assigned by the CIO
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position supervises IT analysts, administrators, network engineers, service desk managers and potentially other IT team members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • 7-10+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. • 3 years of experience supporting Microsoft Azure environment, InTune, and suite of O365 applications required • Experience with Meraki, Barracuda, Sophos, TeamViewer, and CommVault a plus • Knowledge of CIS or NIST security standards • Proven record of continuous development of staff • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential • Excellent communication and people skills at all levels are necessary • Able to work well on multiple projects under pressure and deadline driven environment • Possesses broad technical expertise in IT infrastructure and the ability to identify and leverage technical experts. • Exercises judgment and influence on key technical decisions (e.g., standards and policies, environment selection, technical solutions) within their area. • Ensures that technical expertise is maintained and appropriately leveraged in their area(s). • Ability to work with highly confidential material
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Ability to perform tasks requiring sustained physical activity, such as sitting, standing, walking, or repetitive hand movements. • Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and other peripherals. • Ability to lift and carry items within a reasonable weight range, if necessary. • Regular use of technology and exposure to prolonged periods of screen time.
