How will your talents be utilized?
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the implementation and operations of data
network connectivity and related services in support of a wide array of products and services. On a daily basis responsibilities will include:
Maintain and support critical network components (routers, switches, firewalls, DNS, and load balancers)
Creates and manages project related designs, diagrams, approvals, implementations, and testing.
Works closely with internal customers and external partner entities in support of creating designs and implementing projects to include technical and non-technical requirements.
Manages operations of network systems components including complex troubleshooting, monitoring systems, performance metrics, documentation, testing, and change management.
Manages component maintenance activities such such as version updates and renewals in support of operational requirements.
Manages operational queues including incident assignments and reporting.
Contribute to the documentation, operational procedures and knowledge base of the Enterprise Network Operations team.
Follow change process and documentation requirements.
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor of Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related degree.
Professional focused experience supporting complex Enterprise data networking environments including routers, switches, firewalls, DNS, and load balancers.
Knowledge and experienced in the implementation and troubleshooting of protocols and methods to include STP, OSPF, VPC, VXLAN, L3 VRFs, BGP, policy-based routing, multicast, and QoS.
Knowledge and experienced in the implementation and operations of networking services at scale including redundant Internet connectivity across diverse providers,
DNS and DHCP, point to point VPNs, load balancers, WiFi including NAC, security certificates, cloud connectivity, and network monitoring / management systems
Knowledge and focused experience working with products families to include Cisco Nexus 7K/9K, Cisco ISR, Cisco ASR, firewalls such as Checkpoint, load balancers such as F5, and IPAMs such as BlueCat, and WiFi / NAC such as Aruba.
Operational experience including incident management, asset inventory, change control, and reporting
Cisco CCNP
At least 6 years of experience troubleshooting large, (200+ data network devices) technically complex networking environments
Strengths in OSPF routing and BGP protocols
Experience supporting complex critical data network components in-house including routers, switches (Cisco Nexus 7K/9K), OSPF, WAN, firewalls, wireless
Nice to haves
Prior experience supporting Checkpoint Firewalls
Prior Experience using Solarwind network management tools
