Job Title: Data Solutions Analyst - Employee Benefits

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid Work Schedule)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Solutions Analyst to support the administration of employee benefit products. This position offers an excellent opportunity to engage in complex data solutions, collaborate with various teams, and play a key role in solution implementation projects within the employee benefits space.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Management and Architecture:
  • Lead initiatives to define and maintain business data architecture and management processes supporting the implementation and operational processes of employee benefit products.
  • Ensure that critical data required for operational processes is properly documented and governed to meet business objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to define data requirements, standards, and governance practices throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • Ensure that business needs drive data requirements and that these are effectively communicated and implemented within technical solutions.
  • Solution Implementation Support:
  • Lead the development and implementation of data management frameworks and ensure they align with business objectives.
  • Support cross-functional teams to implement data solutions, focusing on effective data interchange, integration, and compliance with governance standards.
  • Data Quality & Integration:
  • Troubleshoot backend data issues, ensuring quality and supporting data cleanup efforts.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to define and manage data flows and integrations within distributed systems.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
  • Maintain documentation of data management activities, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and industry standards.
  • Actively support implementation projects and data management activities, ensuring accurate and effective handling of benefit-related data.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience:
  • 9+ years in technology implementations, preferably in the employee benefits, insurance, or financial services industries.
  • 6+ years of experience working with distributed systems, including cloud environments and data integration.
  • 4+ years of experience working with agile and waterfall development methodologies.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Experience with data management principles, including data integration, transaction management, and maintaining data integrity across systems.
  • Strong understanding of data models and the ability to read and interpret data structures.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft data management tools (e.g., SQL Server Management Studio, SSIS) and NoSQL platforms (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).
  • Knowledge of governance frameworks and best practices for data integration and standards.
  • Communication Skills:
  • Strong ability to communicate complex data-related concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups and align business requirements with data solutions.
  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the insurance industry is a significant plus.
  • Certifications in data management (e.g., CDMP, CBIP) or architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) are desirable.

Success in First 90 Days:
  • Gain a solid understanding of the company's benefit product landscape and the technical platforms used to support them.
  • Support operational and production activities related to a specific data domain.
  • Actively contribute to a medium-complexity implementation project with guidance from the team.

Typical Day-to-Day Activities:
  • Troubleshoot data issues and assist with data cleanup and quality assurance.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and ensure effective integration into technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement data governance and standards for employee benefits administration.
